Escaped from a career in accounting in 1979 and moved into the realm of IT as a profession. Application development for 10 years, 5 years as a corporate technology evangelist, directory, identity and access management expert followed by a further 15 years in the IT Security architecture space. Currently in the Organizational Capability area looking for innovative ways to encourage, develop and retain technical talent.
Hobbies, Sci-fi nut (hence the moniker), playing and listening to multiple genres of music, writing, bicycling, hiking, building electronic stuff. Also an avid standalone and online PC (and before PCs) gamer for over 30 years;
Particularly like massively multiplayer games : my first MMO experiences included UO (Ultima Online), Meridian 59, followed by Earth & Beyond, EVE Online, SWG, WoW, Hellgate London, and SWTOR. Also have a passion for LAN parties using arena and FPS games like Tribes 2, BF3, UT, Doom, TF, Guildwars, Borderlands, and CoD
